More Sound Design
Design reel focused on User Interface sounds. In order to get audio with impactful feedback, I recorded sources with lots of satisfying clicks and slides; finally getting creative use out of my fidget toys. Includes redesigns for Dead Space, Honkai: Star Rail, MTG Arena, and the UE5 game sample Cropout.
Full length redesign of a cinematic from League of Legends. Here, Twisted Fate goes toe to toe with Fiddlesticks in a dark forest. Many sounds used were personally sourced and manipulated, including the tactile flips of Twisted Fate's playing cards and Fiddlestick's flock of angry crows.
UI redesign for Destiny 2. After being provided with a clip from Bungie's own Juan Pablo Uribe, the Sound Design Discord was challenged to create their own soundscape for this game's iconic menus. Finding the right sound priority was integral for the mix of this clip - not all sounds hold equal weight and balance is key.

Audio Implementation
A play-through and breakdown of the third person shooter I made in Unreal Engine 5. In an effort to create a little playground for audio implementation, I came up with creative solutions to audio problems one might encounter while working on a real game. Highlights include intuitive player feedback, nuanced ambiances, and splines.
A demo reel of various projects I've sound designed and implemented audio for. Includes my self made third person shooter, French indie game "Blown Away", and various personal passion projects made in Unreal Engine 5.
A short clip from All The Better to Date You With, a dating sim / match-3 game made for the Pirate Software game jam. Along with designing all the SFX and music for the project, I was able to wear a directorial hat for many of the mechanics and writing. All sounds were implemented natively within the Godot engine.
I'm Alexander Morgan,
but my friends call me Schmorgle.
I have always been enamored with the way video games can tell compelling stories. Whether it's the epic adventures of a Final Fantasy party or the delicately woven narrative of a serene experience like Journey, the immersive power of games is unparalleled. As a sound designer, my ultimate goal is to contribute to the creation of that captivating magic which I find myself enamored by.

My journey as an audio enthusiast began with a passion for songwriting. After completing my degree in Performance at Boston University, I ventured into the vibrant music scene of New York City, refining my skills as a musician, producer, and songwriter. I cut my teeth at a Brooklyn studio, working on multiple records and film scores. Eventually, my path led me back Los Angeles, where I toured as a guitarist for a burgeoning pop act. This experience honed my collaborative skills and taught me how to thrive under pressure.

In addition to my musical pursuits, I delved into podcasting, leveraging my expertise as a producer to craft immersive audio experiences. Under my online alias "Schmorgle," I also built a dedicated following of over 6,000 subscribers on YouTube, sharing my journey in audio production and nurturing a vibrant community of creators. This phase made me realize that my community's love for both audio and video games was intertwined, leading me to unify my two passions. I now focus on game audio, curating dynamic soundscapes that enrich gaming experiences. With my enduring love for video games and relentless drive to learn, I aim to leave a lasting impact and give back to the industry that has given me so much joy.
